CSGA API Pilot Program

Connecting Systems and Streamlining the Application Processes

What is an API?

An API, or Application Programming Interface, is a powerful tool that allows different software systems to connect, share data, and work together seamlessly. Think of it as a digital bridge that lets one system talk to another. By integrating with an API, organizations can automate processes, reduce manual data entry, and ensure that information flows smoothly between platforms.

Introducing CSGA’s API Pilot

At the Canadian Seed Growers’ Association (CSGA), we’re constantly exploring ways to improve efficiency for our members and the broader seed sector. To that end, we’re excited to announce the launch of our API Pilot Program, which aims to simplify the way seed crop application data is shared with our SeedCert system.

This pilot API will enable a limited number of pre-approved companies to connect directly to CSGA’s SeedCert system from their own platforms, allowing their users to submit crop applications and share data more efficiently. By reducing the need for manual entry and enabling real-time data transfer, we hope to save members time and reduce the risk of errors in the application process. Of note, participating companies will need to obtain consent from their users to connect to CSGA’s system and the company’s will need to share that proof of that consent with CSGA.

Key Benefits of the API Pilot

Automated Data Submission: Seamlessly transfer crop application data from your system to SeedCert, streamlining the application process.

Enhanced Integration: Connect your internal platforms directly with CSGA’s systems, improving data accuracy and reducing administrative workload.

Pilot Program Incentives: During the 2025 growing season, CSGA will waive all API connection fees and API usage fees for pilot participants, allowing companies to test the integration risk-free. Standard API connection fees will apply for non-pilot activities.

How the API Pilot Works

The CSGA API pilot is designed to simplify how you interact with the SeedCert system:

Data Integration: Once connected, your system can securely share crop application information with SeedCert.

Application Submission: Submit your crop applications directly from your existing platforms without needing to manually enter information on CSGA’s website.

Secure and Scalable: The API is built with security and scalability in mind, ensuring data privacy and supporting future growth.
