I want to share with members that yesterday marked Doug Miller’s final day as Executive Director.
On behalf of the Board, staff and Branches, we extend our sincere appreciation to Doug for his 15 years of dedication and leadership. Over that time, he championed Certified seed, led important modernization efforts, and represented Canada in domestic and international seed policy.
Beyond the work, Doug is known across our community for the relationships he built and the way he led—with integrity, clarity, and a straightforward approach that earned the respect of colleagues and members alike. His leadership has left a lasting mark on both CSGA and the broader seed sector. For all of that and more, we thank him as we look forward to what’s next.
As part of the leadership transition, Caroline Lafontaine, Chief Operating Officer, has been appointed Interim Executive Director while the search for a permanent Executive Director continues. With 20 years of experience at CSGA, Caroline brings deep organizational knowledge and steady leadership and will ensure continuity across our operations and services.
The Board’s search for a permanent Executive Director remains actively underway, and we will keep members informed as that process progresses.
We thank Doug for his dedication and service and wish him and his family every success in the next chapter.
