The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is accepting applications for the Plant Breeders’ Rights Advisory Committee until September 25, 2020.

The mandate of the committee is to advise the CFIA Commissioner on the application of the Plant Breeders’ Rights Act and Plant Breeders’ Rights Regulations. The Committee will discuss various topics including:
- the strategic direction and priorities of the Plant Breeders’ Rights Office
- key legislative, regulatory, policy, and process initiatives to improve the intellectual property framework
- opportunities for greater cooperation and collaboration internationally and domestically
- leveraging the intellectual property framework to stimulate greater investment and innovation in the agriculture, horticulture, and ornamental/nursery sectors.
