Last week, we launched our CSGA Seeds Canada Amalgamation Ratification webpage, a one-stop member shop for information on our proposed amalgamation with the Canadian Seed Trade Association (CSTA), the Commercial Seed Analysts Association of Canada (CSAAC), the Canadian Seed Institute (CSI), and the Canadian Plant Technology Agency (CPTA). We encourage you to visit this website at your earliest convenience to view/download the complete amalgamation proposal ratification package.
Voting on the amalgamation proposal begins on July 15 and continues through to the virtual Special General Meeting of August 27 where the results of the vote will be announced. You will receive a hard copy of the ratification package and voting instructions by regular mail in mid-July and you will have the option of mailing or phoning in your ballot or voting online.
Virtual Town Halls
If you have questions that you would like answered or views that you would like to share, we invite you to sign up for one of our virtual Town Hall meetings, scheduled weekly through July and August.
The 90-minute Town Hall meetings are designed to provide you with an overview of the amalgamation proposal, an opportunity to ask questions and a means to make your views known.
CSGA Directors will be present at every Town Hall to answer your questions and explain why the CSGA Board chose to recommend this proposal to you at this time. They will be supported by the professionals who helped develop the proposal and by CSGA staff. All in one virtual location.
To create a space for meaningful dialogue, we will accept a limited number of participants for each Town Hall, so please register early and in advance.
Meeting dates and times and registration forms can be found through the button above. Additional Town Hall sessions may be added based on demand, so please check in regularly if you can’t find a convenient date and time now. Town Halls are offered using online Zoom Meetings or call in via a toll-free phone number.
Members are encouraged to read the ratification package documents in advance of their Town Hall if possible and come prepared with questions. But most importantly, sign up now.
If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact us at seedtalk@seedgrowers.ca or (613) 236-0497.
