Notice of Special General Meeting

In accordance with the Canadian Seed Growers’ Association By-law 5:02, the Executive Committee of the Association is convening a Special General Meeting (SGM) of the members of the Association to take place from 12:30 PM to 13:30 PM EST on Wednesday, November 24, 2021. In accordance with By-law 5:10, the meeting will be held electronically through a video Zoom meeting.

Registration is Now Open for the SGM

You are invited to join us for CSGA’s virtual SGM on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm EST.

This meeting is to confirm member support for fee adjustments as recommended by the CSGA Board of Directors. The meeting is open to all members and stakeholders with advanced registration required by Monday, November 22 and will take place online via a Zoom virtual meeting. Although call-in options are available, you will only be able to vote through the online meeting. As per By-law 3:01 and 5:04, only Regular Members are entitled to vote on Association business.

Share Your Feedback on Proposed Fees Before October 31

There is still time to share your feedback with us! The Board of Directors is asking for comments on proposed fee adjustments and on an annual inflation adjustment policy. Your feedback will help shape the final recommendation put forward by the Board of Directors to members for approval at the November 24 Special General Meeting. Feedback received will be reviewed by the Board as it prepares its final recommendation on fees. The Board’s final fee recommendation will be communicated electronically by November 14, 2021 and presented for Member approval at the SGM.

We encourage everyone involved in seed certification to submit comments. The consultation period is open until October 31, 2021.

Reminder - Consultation Open on Proposed Changes to Circular 6

CSGA is requesting feedback on changes proposed by the Regulatory Services Committee (RSC) to the Canadian Regulations and Procedures for Pedigreed Seed Crop Production (Circular 6) before a final recommendation is presented to the Board.

The RSC has recommended changes to the mechanical purity standards and the isolation and previous land use requirements relating to the presence of buckwheat in cereals and cereals in buckwheat.

You are invited to provide feedback by November 2, 2021 on these proposed Circular 6 changes relating to Buckwheat.
